WINE WITH BACKBONE
Chile is a thin strip of a Country, almost 900 miles long that is roughly the same distance as Glasgow to Libya! The common feature of its length is its backbone of the Chilean Andes, which travels virtually the length of the Country and is crucial in the irrigation of the Vineyards of the central valley. Chile’s wines are a favourite from the new world especially the Sauvignons and the Merlots which are exceptional value for money. There is an emergence of fashionable Carmenere which has been hailed as one of the best wines to be drunk with curry, it is not easily overpowered by complex spices.
The Las Montanas range provides the backbone to our Chilean portfolio; the Merlot and the Sauvignon are two of the best value for money wines that we have to offer. They are easy drinking and accessible and never offensive. With the explosion in popularity in niche Chilean wine our Valdemoro Carmenere is extremely popular, and a superb addition to any wine list.
