CHAMPAGNE & SPARKLING

SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE

The current fashion for Prosecco as a sparkling wine of choice shows no sign of backing off, this Italian sparkling wines popularity has doubled year on year for the last three years, UK consumption alone topped nearly 45 million bottles last year. Champagne prices continue to rise as demand grows from the emerging markets of Russia and China. This extra world demand enables the Champagne houses to maximise the revenue for their product, for what is a finite resource. Sometimes it is better to source a smaller Champagne house producing superb wine rather than go with the Grand Marque which gives much better value for money where Champagne is a necessity.

THE BRANDS

The big name Champagne houses speak for themselves, I’d rather write a few words on our ‘house’ Champagne, Champagne Moutard. The Moutard family have been making wine since 1642. The Moutard Brut is driven by the Pinot Noir grape and is exceptional value for money.

Our flagship Prosecco is the Di Maria and the Di Maria Raboso Rose, both of which are award winning sparkling wines, very much in fashion and exceptional value.

From England we are proud to offer one of the finest sparkling wines of the world in the Herbert Hall NV Brut. This is a superb alternative to Champagne and is listed at Michel Roux’s Le Gavroche.
